Craig and Annette MacLean managed the Geneva Greenhouse on Western Ave. in Geneva, IL. When the property was sold in 2006, the greenhouse was closed leaving Geneva without it's own garden center. So, they decided to open a new garden center and found the perfect in town location in a 1937 PURE Oil gas station. They named it The PURE Gardener. PURE because it was a PURE oil gas station and also because they use organic practices wherever possible at the shop and in their own home gardens.
Garrison worked at Geneva Greenhouse since he was 12 years old.
Julie Ann has a teaching degree and a great love for gardening. She is Annette's best friend.
Most of our regulars recognize Mary from the Geneva Greenhouse where she has been designing custom containers, bows, and giving out friendly advise and continues to at The PURE Gardener. She has a degree in floral design and was the president of the Geneva Garden Club.
Elizabeth Altman is known as the "perennial expert" and has a degree in landscape design & years of experience working with perennials.
Diana, Bud, and Zack have worked at Geneva Greenhouse and The PURE Gardener since it opened.
